If your appointment is delayed and you urgently need an update, please contact the secretary of the hospital consultant overseeing your care for the latest information.
My Planned Care gives you advice and support while you wait and helps you prepare for your hospital consultation, treatment, or surgery. This includes giving you information about waiting times at your hospital and other supporting and local services while you wait. This site is updated weekly
Since April 2017, changes in hospital contracts require hospitals to address queries about your care directly, much like GPs handle patient inquiries regarding the care we provide. Therefore, any hospital-related matters should be resolved with the hospital rather than your GP.
Open or Patient-Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) Appointments
If you have an open appointment with the hospital, it typically remains valid for six months from the date of your last outpatient visit, unless otherwise stated. Should you wish to schedule a follow-up appointment, you can contact the consultant’s secretary directly—there is no need to go through your GP. Simply call the hospital and ask to be added back to your consultant’s appointment list.
If you are still within the timeframe of your open appointment but the hospital advises you to contact your GP, please request that the hospital reinstate your appointment directly.
