Rated highest in Poole in GP survey 2025. We are very grateful to our staff for all their hard work
Unfortunately we have come to the decision that for new patients, we do not accept ‘shared care’ requests to prescribe or monitor medications for gender dysphoria. This also applies to existing patients who newly request shared care, as well as patients joining us from other practices.
We do not arrange blood tests for patients who are obtaining hormone medication for self treatment, or advise on private blood test results.
This is due to lack of funding and specialist support in this area.
We feel there is an unacceptable level of service, and we believe there should be more equitable care for the transgender community. This would involve not only more timely access to specialist care but also continued resources to fund and train GPs to maintain prescribing and monitoring.
