Do I need to contact the GP practice?

The GP practice is unable to speed up the process once the death has been referred to the Medical Examiner Office.

GP practices can no longer issue the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death directly to the family or send it directly to the Register Office. The certificate must go through the Medical Examiner process before it can be sent to the Register Office.
